In 2020, Sara Event Management had the honor of contributing to a historic event—the reopening of Mogadishu Stadium, also known as the “Village of Sports,” after decades of closure due to Somalia’s civil war. This significant moment marked the revival of a beloved national venue and symbol of Somali unity and resilience.
As the event management company tasked with overseeing the decoration and organization of this prestigious event, Sara Event Management worked closely with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Federal Government of Somalia to ensure that the reopening was a momentous and memorable occasion. Our team focused on creating an atmosphere that celebrated Somalia’s sporting heritage and bright future, with attention to every detail, from venue setup to event flow.
For our work on this event, we were awarded a Certificate of Excellence by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, recognizing our outstanding contribution to the event’s success. This award was particularly meaningful as it symbolized our role in not just event management, but in helping to restore a national landmark that holds deep cultural and historical significance.
The reopening of Mogadishu Stadium was more than just an event—it was a moment of hope, signaling a new era for Somali sports and national pride. We are proud to have been part of such an important milestone and look forward to continuing our work in creating events that shape the future of Somalia.
